- Oregon is notable as the only Pacific coast state with no notary bond requirement. 20-question true/false/multiple-choice open-book exam; max 4 incorrect allowed. As of January 1, 2025, a notary training course (completed within 6 months of application) is also required in addition to the exam. Max fee per notarial act is $10.
