Exam details & notes
OPLC (Board of Barbering, Cosmetology & Esthetics) contracts Prov, Inc. to administer NIC written AND practical exams (OPLC-hosted Prov CIB dated 1/20/2025). NIC esthetics theory: 110 items (100 scored + 10 unscored), 90 minutes, 75% pass; content = Scientific Concepts 55% / Skin Care and Services 45%. A NH State Law exam is administered alongside the written. Both written and practical required for all license categories. Unusual: formal apprenticeship alternative (1,200 hours). Note: NIC's own maps page still shows D.L. Roope for NH — outdated; OPLC's 2025 CIB confirms Prov.
