Exam details & notes
Board of Cosmetology under the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR). NIC written (theory) and NIC practical exams via Prov; 75% passing on each (instructors 80%). NIC esthetics theory format: 110 questions (100 scored), 90 min. No separate state-law written exam published on the board exam page. 450 hours is among the lower requirements regionally (vs 600 in NC/GA). Biennial renewal requires 4 hours of board-approved CE.
