What it takes to get licensed to sell real estate in Arizona, from the state's official commission and exam vendor.

- 90 (plus a separate 6-hour Contract Writing course required for licensure, not required to sit the exam)

- 90 hours broker pre-licensing education + 9-hour Broker Management Clinic + at least 3 years active licensure as salesperson within the preceding 5 years
- Exam vendor
- Pearson VUE — Arizona Department of Real Estate exams are administered by Pearson VUE (note: effective Jan 1, 2026 the salesperson exam was split into separate national and state exams)
- Exam structure
- 180 scored questions total (80 national + 100 state) plus 15 unscored pretest items, scored separately by section
- Passing
- 75% required on both the national and state sections
